The CONFIDENCE Project, funded under the H2020 CONCERT project, is performing research focused on uncertainties in the area of emergency management and long-term rehabilitation. It concentrates on the early and transition phases of an emergency, but considers also longer-term decisions made during these phases. The project brings together expertise from four European Radiation Protection Research Platforms (NERIS, MELODI, ALLIANCE and EURADOS) and also from Social Sciences and Humanities.
Actors in emergency and recovery preparedness and management from all levels and sectors are encouraged to participate in this the CONFIDENCE Dissemination to be held in Bratislava from 2 to 5 December 2019.
The main objectives will be:
To disseminate the knowledge acquired and to demonstrate the capability of the developed models, methods, approaches, guides, recommendations and tools.
To collect feedback from end users on our outputs and remaining research requirements or improvements in models/guides etc. as a feedback to the Platforms to further develop their Strategic Research Agendas.
Information on the agenda, registration and accommodation will be shared in the coming months.
The 5th NERIS Workshop will be hosted by DTU – Nutech, Center for Nuclear Technologies, in Roskilde (Denmark) from 3rd to 5th April 2019. It will be the opportunity to discuss and exchange between NERIS members, international organisations and European Research communities on research developments and priorities for the European NERIS Platform.
The topic of the workshop will be communicated in the coming months.
On 25-27 April 2018 in Dublin, the NERIS Platform organised its 4th Workshop in cooperation with the Irish Environmental Protection Agency. Coping with uncertainty in impact assessment & decision making;
Calibration of new monitoring options (mobile monitoring);
Inverse modelling & data assimilation;
Data reproductibility and model validation;
Novel approaches to communication & stakeholder engagement;
Operational challenges for emergency response and recovery.
In addition, a Round Table on the CONCERT Joint Roadmap and the links with the NERIS research activities was organized at the end of the workshop.
The European Radiation Protection Research Platforms MELODI, EURADOS, NERIS, ALLIANCE and EURAMED have jointly planned an open information and networking day related to the EURATOM Call NFRP-2018-8 last February 20th, 2018, in Munich.
